Food insecurity is no longer on the margins, it’s affecting families across every community.

Today, nearly 1 in 4 Canadians, including millions of children, are facing food insecurity, the highest level ever recorded. Across the GTA and into communities like Barrie, Newmarket, and Durham Region, more and more of these are working and middle-income families doing everything right and still struggling to put food on the table.

In 2025 alone, a 100% volunteer team delivered 5,572 hampers directly to families across our community, meeting immediate needs with dignity.

As a 100% volunteer-led organization, Basket Brigade Canada mobilizes communities to provide food to individuals and families facing food insecurity—delivered with dignity, care, and a deep commitment to supporting our neighbours when they need it most.
